I've searched for hours and hours over dozens of forum posts on arma2, reddit, dayz forums, xsplit forums and various other sites that have tweaks and optimizations for arma2 and dayz. After trying tons of different combinations of settings I've found what works best for my setup.Personally, I carry one 2x2 of canned food (usually canned bacon), one soda, and a stack of chlorine all inside a cooking pot. This allows for one back up food if you get low and still can't find an animal to hunt. I consider the console version an unplayable mess. If you download the DayZSA Launcher on PC and find some solid modded servers (like the DayOne servers for Namalsk and their Livonia server) you'll experience the best version of DayZ since the first few months of the Arma 2 Day mod.
